Hi, I’m Chuck Pearson. I’m the CEO of Rareview®. My goal with this blog is to navigate the crossroads of Business, Family, and Personal Growth. And—to share photos. I love taking pictures.
I started a creative agency officially in 2002, although it really started earlier as a side hustle. I’ve been at this for over 20 years.
Although I do not consider myself a writer, I find the process of writing helps me think. In my personal life, I journal.
For years I’ve been contemplating the idea of creating a blog. I’ve asked myself “why” a million times (I do not like social media) and I’ve come up with several compelling reasons.
- It’s a mechanism to reflect on over 2 decades of being a small business owner (e.g. it acts as a professional journal).
- While I’m no Steve Jobs or Richard Branson, there may be a few nuggets of useful information that someone may find helpful or thought provoking.
- My children (ages 11, 13, and 15 at the time of this writing) are entering their teenage years. My oldest interned at my agency this summer. I have been thinking about ways to share my journey, successes, and failures with them.
- It’s for me. There are many reasons why; some very personal. Here’s one—writing regularly is a valuable practice for cultivating persistence.
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”
- Calvin Coolidge, President (1923-1929)
