Don Winslow has to be one of my favorite authors. Granted, I don’t read much fiction, but he’s at the top of my list.

This is an entertaining novel—short and an easy read. It features great character development, dark humor, and suspense. The story follows small-time criminal Tim Kearney as he navigates the dangerous world of drug cartels and law enforcement.

Don Winslow’s books often share similar themes, and if you haven’t read “The Power of the Dog” series (three books in all), they are among my favorite works of fiction.

Give this one a read; you won’t be disappointed.
