Into Thin Air

Review ★★★★★

Wow. I’m not a climber and there is no interest whatsoever in hiking Mt. Everest for me. Despite this, Into Thin Air is gripping and harrowing. This is the story of the 1996 summit of Everest where 5 people died.

Two movies have been made about this story that I’m aware of. Funny story—after finishing the book I was so engrossed that I decided to watch the movie. About 30 minutes into 1997 Into Thin Air I realized I was watching the wrong one. I meant to watch 2015 Everest. The 1997 movie is terrible, but I saw it through nonetheless. I haven’t gone back and watched Everest yet and plan to soon.
