This book is startling and incredibly sad. I found myself getting quite emotional at times. As a father of two girls, the stories hit home. Jon’s writing is riveting and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the books I’ve read by him. Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith was arguably my favorite, although I’m giving Missoula 5 stars as well.
